The opening of the Grand Theatre of Beilun Cultural Center not only turns a new page in the cultural and artistic landscape of the port city, but also fully demonstrates the comprehensive venue operation strength of its operator Dafeng. As the operator, leveraging its capability to provide full-industry-chain solutions and rich experience in operating pan-cultural venues, Dafeng will build this newly completed cultural complex into a dynamic cultural hub rooted in citizens’ lives, connecting urban resources and enriching people’s life.

A New Cultural Living Room for the Port City

The Grand Theatre of Beilun Cultural Center is located in the core area of Beilun. It is a city-level cultural and performing arts complex that integrates professional performance, public leisure and cultural-and-creative experiences. As a deeply involved participant in the project, Dafeng undertook the overall delivery and construction covering the theatre's high-quality fit-out as well as a full set of core systems — stage machinery, lighting, audio-video and seating: the 1,195-seat grand theatre is equipped with internationally advanced stage machinery, lighting and sound systems; the 308-seat small theatre is fitted with a full-size lifting and retractable stage. The theatre also features a shared lobby and a rooftop sky theatre, accommodating a wide range of performance scenarios from symphony to stand-up comedy, and providing a broad stage for all kinds of artistic activities.

This programme lineup, precisely tailored to the audience profile of Beilun, is a differentiated content solution custom-made for Beilun by Dafeng, drawing on its accumulated user insight from years of venue operations nationwide. Relying on four year-round regular brands — Beilun · Hear the World, Beilun On Stage, Art Amusement Park and HI LIVE, the theatre will build an all-genre performance matrix covering all age groups. The premiere of Gateway to the World marks the debut event of Beilun · Hear the World.

The magic goes beyond stage performances. Dafeng’s operational expertise is not confined within the theatre; it breaks the traditional theatre model and extends its operational scope to public spaces. The rooftop sky theatre will regularly host outdoor art markets and free music salons, while the shared lobby will hold regular open-house days for citizens, performance previews and creative team sharing sessions. Even visitors without performance tickets may enter the venue to experience art, removing the barriers to traditional theatre-going. Meanwhile, drawing on its practical experience in integrating culture, tourism and business, Dafeng will partner with local scenic spots in Beilun including Jiufeng Mountain and Meishanwan Beach Park to build a culture-tourism-commerce chain of “performance + travel + consumption”. It will connect surrounding business districts and cultural tourism sites to create exclusive cultural consumption routes for the port city, allowing art to truly blend into daily life here.

Dafeng Safeguards the Long-term Operation of the Cultural Landmark

As the operator of this theatre, Dafeng directly runs more than 20 pan-cultural venues across 16 cities nationwide, with a managed area exceeding 1.3 million square meters. Its services cover hundreds of cities, making it one of China’s largest operators of cultural venues by directly-managed area.

The official opening of the Grand Theatre of Beilun Cultural Center marks a new milestone in Dafeng’s operational footprint. As a local enterprise rooted in Ningbo, this is the third theatre operated by Dafeng in Ningbo, following its services for the theatres in Ninghai and Yuyao. Moving forward, Dafeng will continue to deepen its operation of pan-cultural venues in the Yangtze River Delta, build a regional collaborative network, help more urban cultural spaces shift from completion and commissioning to long-term sustainable operation, and enable cultural landmarks to become vibrant carriers that enrich residents’ cultural life and stimulate urban cultural consumption.
