The District Government Signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Zhejiang Dafeng Industrial Co., Ltd.
On the afternoon of February 21, the district government and Zhejiang Dafeng Industrial Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly plan the construction of the Quadrupole World Project. This initiative aims to advance polar scientific research, promote the development of the snow and ice economy, and solidify its roots in Putuo. Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and District Mayor Xu Weibo attended the signing ceremony, alongside Zhejiang Dafeng Industrial Co., Ltd. Chairman Feng Hua.
Xu Weibo extended warm congratulations on the signing of the agreement. He emphasized that the Quadrupole World Project represents another key initiative for Putuo to leverage its geographical and energy advantages, seize opportunities in snow and ice economy development, and strategically plan its industrial layout. The project holds significant importance for enhancing Putuo’s city image, expanding cultural tourism market opportunities, and driving high-quality growth in the marine economy. He expressed hope that Dafeng Industrial would collaborate sincerely with Putuo, utilizing this agreement to further capitalize on resource advantages in markets, talent, and publicity. The goal is to ensure efficient project implementation, stimulate upstream and downstream industries in polar research, and boost industrial clusters such as Zhoushan’s polar tourism and polar marine biology research.
Feng Hua provided an overview of the Quadrupole World Project’s progress and future plans. He highlighted Putuo’s superior geographical location, rich cultural heritage, and favorable business environment as key factors strengthening the company’s confidence in establishing long-term development in the region. He called for continued communication and high-standard collaboration to elevate Putuo’s tourism industry to new heights.
According to reports, the Putuo Quadrupole World Project is situated in the Southwest Tu Block of Zhujiajian. Its construction includes a polar research base, a polar marine research base, a polar peak research base, and a polar space research base. These facilities will serve as a centralized platform for national scientific research, technological development, and public education in quadrupole science and technology. Additionally, simulated environments of polar regions, polar seas, polar airspace, and polar peaks will offer tourists immersive ice and snow experiences. The project employs LNG cold energy to create artificial ice, snow, and ultra-low temperature environments, reducing carbon emissions while repurposing waste—a model of circular and low-carbon economies. Following this agreement, Dafeng Industrial, as Putuo’s cultural tourism operator, will fully engage in the planning, construction, and branding of projects such as the Quadrupole World.
An Hailong and Zhang Qiaoling were also present at the event.
