The Intelligent System Behind the “Camellia” in Bloom — Dafeng’s New Product Debuts at Ningbo (Yinzhou) Tennis Center

Recently, the new venue at the Ningbo (Yinzhou) Tennis Center was officially put into operation. Dafeng was responsible for the design and development, intelligent manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of the retractable roof drive and control system for the main court, providing core intelligent technology support for the project. With this system, the renewed Ningbo (Yinzhou) Tennis Center has become one of the highlights of the event. The successful application of this product marks another important step for Dafeng in innovative technologies for culture, sports, and tourism, offering intelligent solutions that enable large venues to flexibly adapt to multiple scenarios.

Built upon a core architecture of intelligent drive, precision control, and safety protection, the system integrates a rack-and-pinion floating transmission structure with intelligent compensation algorithms, achieving millimeter-level precision and smooth operation. In complex environments, the system can automatically detect variables such as load, temperature, and wind, and adjust its operating status in real time to ensure the synchronized and stable movement of the 12 “petal-like” roof panels. Even in extreme situations such as power outages, the roof can be safely opened through its own weight in coordination with 24 braking units, ensuring emergency safety.

The roof can complete opening and closing transitions within 10 minutes, meeting diverse weather conditions and usage needs while balancing advanced performance, safety, and practicality. The system also features self-diagnosis, automatic correction, and low-noise, energy-efficient operation, providing reliable, all-weather support for stadium operations.

The implementation of this system redefines the spatial form and functional use of large venues. It enables seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor modes within a short time, meeting the high standards required for top-tier international and domestic events, while also creating open and flexible spaces for public cultural and sports activities. This transformation allows the venue to evolve from a “single-purpose arena” into an “all-weather, multi-functional urban activity hub”.
