Dafeng Core Systems Illuminate the Opening Ceremony of the Asian Beach Games

On April 22, the Opening Ceremony of the 6th Asian Beach Games was grandly held at the Sanya Asian Beach Games Park. This marks the first major international comprehensive sporting event hosted in Hainan following the island’s full implementation of its Free Trade Port customs closure operations.

For this edition of the Games, three core systems—the stage mechanical system, LED display system, and fountain & underwater lighting system—were all designed and delivered by Dafeng. In particular, the “Ring of Sunshine,” powered by the main venue’s LED display system, has already become a striking new landmark in Hainan.

The stage mechanical system served as the fundamental backbone of the entire ceremony. At its center was an 8-meter-diameter lifting platform, capable of smoothly and rapidly transporting large-scale props and performers from the stage storage area to the performance surface with precision, ensuring seamless transitions between program segments. The system also allows flexible reconfiguration of stage layouts in response to performance requirements, working in coordination with aerial performance elements to create a highly layered visual experience. In addition, a 2100-square-meter shallow-water lifting stage provides extensive coverage and enables rapid scene transitions, efficiently switching between water-stage and dry-stage modes, achieving a high level of integration between performance presentation and competition functionality.

The LED display system, installed on the “Ring of Sunshine,” features a customized circular curved outdoor full-color display structure. It creates a coastal stage aesthetic of “the sky as the curtain, the sea as the stage, and the sand as the seating area.” Using customized modules and high-precision seamless splicing technology, the system delivers uninterrupted, fluid visuals, offering audiences an immersive 360-degree viewing experience.

The fountain and underwater lighting system comprises 149 water jet nozzles, 10 misting fog nozzles, and 1,498 underwater lighting units. The underwater lights utilize LED technology, producing rich layers of light and shadow that blend deeply with the aquatic stage environment. As water ripples and light interweaves, the system creates an artistic atmosphere evoking the harmony of “sky and sea in one color.”
